6 useful properties of flax seeds for cleansing blood vessels from cholesterol and therapeutic recipes based on them

Flax seeds are a valuable ingredient in folk medicine. Their effectiveness in improving the cardiovascular system is also confirmed scientific research .

They contain linamarine, organic and phenolic carboxylic acids (over 20 varieties), methyl fat, as well as omega-3 acids (and there are more of them in linseed oil than in fish oil).

Research confirms that due to this composition, the use of flax reduces the level of bad cholesterol in the blood.

How are flax seeds used to clean and strengthen blood vessels? How to prepare medicinal products based on them? Which recipes are better to use? All the answers are below.

Recall that in the last article we reviewed the effect of linseed oil on blood vessels and the heart .

6 useful properties of the plant

Flax seeds can be used for the treatment and prevention of atherosclerosis. And this disease develops precisely because of the "slagging" of blood vessels, when cholesterol and lipid compounds are deposited on their walls. Flax also has a positive effect on the condition of the vessels of the legs, as well as relieves joint pain.

What effect do flax seeds have on the body? There are several key ones:

  1. Reduces the level of &171;bad &187; cholesterol. And along with this, the level of high-density cholesterol increases (which is "useful" and necessary for the formation of cell membranes). Also, the use of flaxseed oil as a dietary supplement significantly reduces the concentration of triglycerides in the blood.
  2. Comprehensively improve brain function. And omega-3 acids contribute to this, which have a positive effect on the work of neural connections, increasing their conductivity. By the way, along with this, the likelihood of migraine attacks decreases.
  3. Reduces the likelihood of polyneuropathy. That is why flaxseed oil is recommended to be included in the diet of all diabetics. But polyneuropathy is quite common among people of retirement age.
  4. Removes toxins. This is facilitated by thioproline, which acts as an absorbent. First of all, it removes all nitrate derivatives from the blood (which are also part of atherosclerotic plaques).
  5. Improves the tone of the heart muscle. A combination of organic acids contributes to this. And this is an excellent prevention of heart attack and microinfarction. Flax is one of the most healthy foods for the heart .
  6. Reduces the concentration of lipids in the blood. Linseed oil enhances intestinal motility and prevents the accumulation of adipose tissue. And the seeds, by the way, have as much as 20% fiber in their composition, which is almost 5 times more than in oranges (they can be used as flaxseed flour).

Pharmacological companies produce the drug "Linetol", the main purpose of which is treatment of atherosclerosis. The basis of this remedy is an extract from flax seeds.

And it is also often possible to find positive reviews regarding the use of linseed oil in cosmetology. For example, daily lotions with it will help to get rid of visible vascular "stars" or significantly reduce inflammation of dilated veins.

3 healing recipes based on it

It is necessary to remember that in order to preserve the maximum of useful trace elements, flax seeds (as well as oils) are forbidden to be heat-treated. When heated above 60 degrees Celsius, most of the organic acids contained in linseed oil actively decomposes into derivative components. The same thing happens with omega-3 acids.

1. Infusion with calendula against atherosclerosis

This remedy is recommended for the early prevention of atherosclerosis. At the same time, such cleansing infusion prevents the development of constipation and flatulence.

It is prepared like this:

  1. Grind 2 tablespoons of flax seeds in a coffee grinder;
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of dried crushed calendula flowers;
  3. Pour 1 cup of warm water (no more than 50 degrees);
  4. Insist for 40 minutes, then strain through several layers of gauze (a small part of the flaxseed "flour" will still remain).

Take 60-70 milliliters (1/3 cup) 3 times a day before meals.

The minimum course is 2 weeks, then a mandatory break (since an excess of omega-3 acids is also harmful).

2. Siberian elixir for stroke prevention

It is believed that this remedy was originally invented by Siberian healers. Its key effect is to reduce the concentration of cholesterol in the blood, as well as to enhance the motility of the entire digestive tract (which indirectly reduces the concentration of lipids).

It is prepared like this:

  1. Thoroughly dry 100 grams of mature flaxseeds (without exceeding a temperature of 60 degrees);
  2. Pour everything into a glass container and pour 250 milliliters of unrefined sunflower oil (preferably obtained by cold pressing);
  3. Insist for 10 days at room temperature, shaking the mixture thoroughly once a day.

Take 2 times a day, one tablespoon on an empty stomach and right before bedtime. The course of treatment is 3 weeks, followed by a 1–week break and a repeat course.

This remedy acts as a rather strong laxative. It is necessary to take into account this effect.

3. A remedy with vinegar to enhance immunity

Apple cider vinegar reduces the concentration of low-density cholesterol well, and also helps restore normal blood flow in the brain and, indirectly, strengthens the immune system.

The remedy is prepared as follows:

  1. Pour 100 grams of flax seeds with cold water and let it stand for at least 2 days (water should be replaced 2 times during this period);
  2. After – drain the water and spread the seeds on paper towels (to completely get rid of moisture);
  3. Put the seeds in a glass container and pour 300 milliliters of apple cider vinegar;
  4. Insist for 7 days at room temperature. Then strain through cheesecloth.

Take 2 tablespoons 3 times a day, snacking on a small piece of black bread. The minimum duration of the course is 2 weeks (optimally – at least 2 months). This remedy is contraindicated in cholecystitis.

Contraindications

According to the recommendations of doctors, from flax seeds and oil should be abandoned in the presence of the following diseases:

  • Cholecystitis;
  • Diarrhea;
  • Colitis;
  • Pancreatitis;
  • Chronic constipation of unexplained etiology (but not related to impaired intestinal motility).

It should also be borne in mind that some organic acids that are part of flax and linseed oil are quite strong allergens. Accordingly, any allergy symptoms are a reason to cancel any subsequent treatment with flaxseed.

General rules of procedure

In order for the effect of using flax seeds to be as good as possible, the following rules should be followed:

  1. Give up harmful products. At the time of treatment, completely abandon products containing animal fats. They contain cholesterol in large quantities. And these include whole milk, cheese, chicken and quail eggs, fish. During this period, preference should be given to vegetables and various kinds of fruits.
  2. Be sure to give up alcohol. Alcohol is extremely harmful to blood vessels . Although derivatives of ethyl alcohol can reduce cholesterol levels in the blood, they also reduce their elasticity, which significantly increases the likelihood of varicose veins. However, a little dry red wine won't hurt.
  3. Meet deadlines. In no case should the vessels be cleaned more than allowed (meaning an increase in the duration of the course of treatment). Lowering cholesterol levels below 1.5 mmol/l (about 5 mmol at normal levels) can provoke the development of chronic liver diseases.
  4. How often should the procedure be performed? The best option is 2-3 times during the calendar year. Even better, consult with a therapist on this matter, who will direct you to take blood tests (this is the only way to find out the exact concentration of low and high density cholesterol).
  5. During pregnancy or lactation, the procedure should be avoided. In women during this period, the norm of lipids increases, but this is the norm – many micronutrients are necessary for the normal development of the unborn child.
  6. It is necessary to supplement the cleansing procedure with physical activity. The best option is to sign up for fitness or run 2-3 kilometers in the morning and evening. Thus, the rate of lipid breakdown increases.
